The Literacy Network has opened a new learning center in Pittsfield, a move that significantly broadens access to its educational programs for residents across the Berkshire community. The nonprofit organization, which has long provided literacy support and adult education services, says the new location will allow it to serve more people and offer a wider range of programs than ever before.

The Pittsfield Learning Center is designed to meet learners where they are, offering flexible instruction in reading, writing, and other essential skills. Organizers say the expanded space will host one-on-one tutoring, small group classes, and workshops tailored to the needs of adults seeking to improve their literacy or prepare for new opportunities in the workforce.

Community members and local partners have welcomed the opening, noting that access to quality literacy programs remains a critical need in the region. Supporters say the center fills a gap for residents who may have struggled to find nearby resources in the past.

Staff at the center emphasize that literacy is about more than reading and writing. It is a foundation for employment, civic participation, and personal confidence. With the new Pittsfield location, the organization hopes to reach learners who previously faced barriers such as transportation or limited program availability.

The Literacy Network plans to grow its offerings in the coming months, including additional tutoring sessions and partnerships with local employers and community groups. Enrollment information and program schedules are available directly through the organization.
