Police in Rohnert Park have arrested a local woman accused of stealing more than $180,000 from her employer over an extended period. The arrest took place on Tuesday, Oct. 27, following a monthlong investigation into the missing funds.
According to authorities, the woman worked as an office manager at the business and was responsible for handling financial records and transactions. Investigators say the alleged embezzlement was uncovered after discrepancies in the company's accounts prompted an internal review. The business owner then contacted police, launching the formal inquiry.
Detectives spent several weeks reviewing financial documents, bank statements, and transaction records before taking the suspect into custody. The exact method used to divert the money has not been disclosed, but police describe the losses as significant for the small business involved.
The woman was booked into the Sonoma County jail on suspicion of embezzlement and related financial crimes. Her name has not been released pending further proceedings. Authorities have not said whether additional charges are expected.
The investigation remains active, and police are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward. The business, which has not been identified publicly, is said to be cooperating fully with law enforcement.
