Costco issues recall notice for bakery item due to undeclared allergen

A regional recall is underway for a popular bakery item sold at Costco warehouses due to a potentially serious labeling error. The company has pulled its "Mini Beignets filled with Caramel" from shelves after discovering the product contains almonds, a tree nut, which is not declared on the packaging.
This omission poses a significant health risk to individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to tree nuts. Consumption could lead to a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. The recall affects beignets sold in 22 states across the United States.
The product in question was packaged in a 2.2-pound plastic bag with a best-by date of May 6, 2025. Costco is urging customers who purchased the item to immediately stop consuming it and return the product to any Costco warehouse for a full refund.
