Former Employee Accused of Stealing 30 iPads From Sweetwater Business

A Hialeah man is facing charges after police said he stole over $12,000 worth of iPads from a Sweetwater business that had fired him earlier in the day.

According to an arrest report, the man returned to the business after being terminated and took 30 Apple tablets from the property. Investigators placed the total value of the stolen devices at more than $12,000.

Police said the theft happened shortly after the man lost his job at the company. Detectives later identified him as the person responsible and took him into custody.

The man now faces a grand theft charge in connection with the incident. Authorities have not said whether any of the iPads have been recovered.

The case remains under investigation as prosecutors prepare to move forward. No additional details about the business or the exact timing of the theft were released.

Grand theft involving property valued above a certain threshold can carry serious penalties in Florida, including possible jail time and fines. The man is expected to appear in court in the coming weeks.
