A free workshop next week aims to help Hawaiʻi food businesses steer clear of the most frequent inspection pitfalls. The session, hosted by Hawaiʻi Commercial Kitchens, runs from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 and features retired Hawaiʻi Department of Health inspector John Nakashima as the guest speaker.

Nakashima will break down what a solid food safety plan really needs, drawing on years of firsthand experience with the state's inspection process. Attendees will learn how to spot common errors before they become costly violations, saving time and protecting their reputation.
