Two charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into Roanoke business

Two men are facing burglary charges in Roanoke after police say they broke into a local business early Wednesday morning. Authorities responded to an alarm at a commercial property just after 2 a.m. and arrived to find signs of forced entry. Officers located two suspects nearby a short time later, according to a police report.
The suspects, both adult males from the Roanoke area, were taken into custody without incident. They have been identified as 34-year-old Marcus Hale and 29-year-old Derek Sims. Both are now charged with one count of burglary and one count of destruction of property. Police did not say what, if anything, was taken from the business.
The investigation is still open, and detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the area. Anyone with additional information about the break-in is asked to contact the Roanoke Police Department's tip line. The two men are being held at the Roanoke City Jail without bond, with a court appearance scheduled for later this week. It is unclear whether either man has hired an attorney at this time.
