ISU’s Scott College of Business SHRM chapter earns award

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management at Indiana State University's Scott College of Business has been honored with a 2025-2026 Superior Merit Award. This designation, given by the national SHRM organization, recognizes the chapter's outstanding performance in areas such as professional development, community service, and membership growth.

The award places the ISU chapter among an elite group of student chapters across the country. To qualify, the group had to meet rigorous standards set by SHRM, including hosting career-focused events, engaging with local HR professionals, and demonstrating strong leadership within the university. The chapter's activities over the past academic year included workshops on resume building, networking mixers with industry experts, and volunteer efforts with nonprofit organizations in the Wabash Valley.

Faculty advisors praised the students for their dedication and initiative. The Superior Merit Award reflects not only the hard work of the current members but also the lasting culture of excellence within the program. For the students involved, the recognition serves as a valuable credential as they prepare to enter the human resources field. The award period runs through the 2025-2026 academic year, giving the chapter a full year to build on this success.
