HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. — Residents in Hawkinsville and Pulaski County who are planning to leave town for vacation now have an option to help keep their homes and businesses secure. The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office has officially reinstated its popular Vacation Watch program for the summer season.
This free service allows citizens to request that deputies periodically check their properties while they are away. To enroll, homeowners or business proprietors simply need to complete a brief form at the Sheriff's Office, providing their contact information, travel dates, and any specific instructions. Deputies will then add the address to their patrol list, conducting visual inspections of the exterior to look for any signs of disturbance, suspicious activity, or potential problems.
Law enforcement officials emphasize that the program serves as a valuable crime deterrent, as increased patrol presence and scrutiny can discourage would-be burglars. It also provides peace of mind to traveling citizens, knowing that an extra set of eyes is on their property. The sheriff's office encourages all residents planning extended trips to take advantage of this community initiative, noting that a simple check-in can be a powerful tool in maintaining neighborhood safety. The program is available to all residents within the county limits.
