Basalt Opens Business Roundtables to Local Owners

Basalt Opens Business Roundtables to Local Owners

The town of Basalt is inviting local business owners to join Basalt Town Manager Gloria Kaasch-Buerger and Basalt Chamber President and CEO Kris Mattera for an open dialogue about the business climate and local economy.

The roundtables are designed to give owners and operators a direct line to town leadership. Instead of formal presentations, the sessions will focus on conversation, with officials asking participants to share what is working, what is not, and where the town can offer support.

Topics expected to come up include hiring, seasonal swings in revenue, rent and occupancy costs, permitting, and the everyday hurdles that come with running a small business. Organizers say the goal is to hear from the people making decisions at the ground level rather than relying on secondhand reports.

The meetings also give the town a chance to explain current projects and policies that affect commerce, from infrastructure work to zoning updates. Officials say feedback gathered during the sessions will help shape future decisions and possibly lead to new programs or adjustments.

Business owners from any sector are welcome, whether they run a storefront, a restaurant, a service company, or a home-based operation. Attendance is free, and participants are encouraged to bring specific questions and concerns rather than general comments.

Those interested can contact the town or the chamber for dates, times, and locations. Space may be limited, so early sign-ups are recommended.
